I suppose this is the expression I deserved after interrupting her search for dirt. Dare I ask her for a smile? I did…and her face said the rest. I love this child!

My kid’s fascination with dirt has always been a love/hate relationship for me. On one hand I love how my kids love dirt. They love to dig, shovel, bury, scrape, pull out, dig back up and so on. They would probably play in dirt all day if I let them. On the other hand, the mess and general clean up from the dirt is a pain…times three.
Here my daughter is playing with dirt and rocks (her favorites!) but surprisingly, she’s being very careful about where her dirt is going. Her hands always make me smile and I love this picture.
