This is another flower that was at the park we went to last week. It was so bright and pretty sitting there. The whole park was nicely landscaped, so green and colorful. I’ll have to try and get a few more flowers the next time we go, it’s good practice!

Flowers at the Park
June 21, 2009 · 2 Comments
My mother came over last week and we took the kids to a new park. This is one of the flowers that was there and I was struck by how bright and cheery it looked. It was cloudy and threatening to rain (which it didn’t until much later and it stormed something fierce) and there was this bright splash of color just waiting to brighten somebody’s day.

He Wanted His Training Wheels Off….

….so after a few months of begging we finally did it. He’s 4 1/2 years old and very determined. He is stubborn in the sense that when he thinks he should do something, he doesn’t get the thought out of his head until he does it. It’s wonderful and enough to drive you nuts at the same time, just depends on what he has in his head!
We took him to the track and my husband ran with him. Before they completed the course once he was riding on his own. He has some practicing to do, but I was impressed. This child is so precious.

More Fun with Bokeh

I couldn’t get her to stop playing long enough to look at me so I have lots of these shots. I like to capture her in her own world, but also love pictures where she looks right at me. Thanks for looking!

Pam (Savoring the Sweet Life) had a post on bokeh last week. I am a bokeh freak (did I just say that out loud?) and used a bass guitar to experiment on. I will have to try this again. I think next time I will use a black/dark background and dimmed lighting for a moodier picture (dusting the bass probably wouldn’t hurt either!).

Miss E

Here’s another picture I used the antique preset with. I love how she is looking at the camera. Her expression seems to be amused at the fool behind the camera. I guess I would be the fool, but pictures like this are worth it, don’t you think?

At the Playground

I love this picture with Miss E’s tongue sticking out. I used the antique preset in my editing program and tweaked the color a bit. Don’t you love her hair? I think I squealed when I saw her walking towards us with her hair “down”. So adorable!

After days of rain, the sun finally came out and we were able to see Miss E and her brother again. Doesn’t this look like a Target ad? I’m guessing she wasn’t thrilled to see me with my lens pointed at her, but she did her best to ignore me. I love the colors in this picture.

We took my husband out for lunch for his birthday…and I brought my camera. I was trying for just a shot of the chili, but the kids were hungry. Darn kids, always changing it up for you! Kidding! Okay, only half kidding. Or not.
Here my hubby is serving up chili crackers for their hungry mouths.

Water Pitcher
June 10, 2009 · 1 Comment
I thought this water pitcher and jar glass made for an interesting picture. I was trying to capture the sweating pitcher, but it kept getting moved…or should I say used. I should have asked my husband to move out of the way, but he was having so much fun coloring with the boys, I couldn’t do it.
